The Importance of a GoodWeave License
Located on the southwest coast of India’s Kerala state is one of Natural Rugs oldest suppliers. Palm Fibre is a family run organisation that is licensed by GoodWeave. Palm Fibre supports sustainable village industries and produces ethically made, high quality raw materials for our range of beautiful rugs.

With a passion for human rights, it's always been important for Natural Rugs Managing Director Cat Morgan and Director Chris Wansley to work with a GoodWeave licensed supplier, and to maintain and nurture the relationship that was originally established by Cat's father, William.
The GoodWeave label is the best assurance rug and home textile products are made without child, forced or bonded labor, and it also means your purchase supports programs that educate children and improve working conditions for adults in producer communities.
GoodWeave fulfills its mission by creating market demand for certified products, monitoring supply chains, rescuing and educating child laborers, and providing critical services to weaving families.
As a GoodWeave licensed producer, Palm Fibre must meet strict standards and agree to random independent inspections. So, our customers can rest assured that their purchasing decisions are making real, positive impacts.

In addition to being a GoodWeave licensed supplier, Palm Fibre also support a local retreat for homeless people which focusses on providing housing for those from low socio-economic backgrounds.
As part of their wider corporate social responsibilities, Palm Fibre also support smaller, local co-ops through the purchase of woven materials. By generating local investment opportunities, they support the wider community and create financially stable independent businesses.
On a recent trip to India by Cat and Chris, it was reassuring to see the healthy/positive working environment provided by Palm Fibre and to see first-hand how well the staff were looked after.
